As part of the theme year '20 Years since the Fall of the Wall', Robert-Havemann-Gesellschaft e.V. (RHG) will be organising an exhibition on the Peaceful Revolution 1989/90. This will be staged at Alexanderplatz next year and will document the period from the spring of 1989 to the autumn of 1990.
An important part of the exhibition is focused on the personal experiences of the people in East and West Germany in the first year after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Consequently, Robert-Havemann-Gesellschaft is searching for documents and items that are linked with personal experiences of this time. What was your first book, your first record or your first product from the other part of Germany? Did you receive a postcard from friends or family in the other part of Germany? Did you set up a company, a club or an action group in 1990? Was expropriated property returned to you? Did you document your move to the other part of Germany? What were your first travel destinations in the previously unknown part of Europe? Which significant or formative experiences can you share?
Tell us your personal story of German unity. We look forward to receiving your help.
